With the on-going buzz of the Olympic Games taking place in the heart of Paris, our French office decided to join the hype with games of their own at an event in their building - ETC France’s 'Light Games’.
The French team gathered around 50 people at their office in Saint Denis for this after-work event, all ready to compete in the games they set up! There were five different games for guests to have a go at and test their limits in the showroom and warehouse of ETC France’s offices: Basket-cable, Moving Heads Track race, Shutter Throw, Acrobatic Box Gymnastics, and Flight Case Hurdles. Check out below what each game involved -
Moving Heads Track Race
Using an Apex 10 to navigate, participants had to move the powerful beam of a Ministar using pan and tilt along a track on the wall which was displayed via a video projector. The beam was white by default but if the beam went outside of the track lines then it turned red (along with the lights in the room) and the players got a five second penalty. The fastest to complete the track won!
Basket-cable
Athletes had to quickly grab and roll up three (unrolled) cables on the stage and throw them into a flight case 5 meters away. The cables had to be tied up quickly and efficiently (with velcro cable ties and everything…) to make sure it fully went into the flight case.
Acrobatic Box Gymnastics
Gymnasts were given 45 seconds to grab and place a pile of different sized boxes on a pallet. The layout of the boxes could not exceed the size of the pallet and at the end of the 45 seconds each pallet’s height was measured. The goal here was to create the smallest, most concisely packed pallet so as to not pay high delivery costs!
Flight Case Hurdles
Athletes had to navigate a track on the ground featuring obstacles (pallets) using a flight-case as fast as they could to win the race!
Shutter Throw
Participants were given five Source Four LED Series 3 shutters which they had to throw at specific targets. For every target they hit they won five points!
The event was enjoyed by all and just in time for everyone to get in the spirit of the Olympic games. ETC France crowned first, second and third place to the winners of the event. In third place, Anthony Dague from the distributor Alterlite walked away with the bronze medal and a prize of €50 worth of swag. The silver medalist came from further afar, representing Switzerland: Matteo Stesso - he took home €100 worth of ETC swag. Up at the top of the podium, the gold medal went to Lyon, as Victor Girot from Scenetec accumulated the most points across all events and was awarded €200 worth of swag! Well done to all winners and participants!
