ETC Springs into Trade Show Action

ETC has stayed busy this spring with a round of phenomenal industry trade shows. From Prolight + Sound in Frankfurt, to LEDucation in New York, to USITT in Seattle, we’ve had a great time showing customers our latest solutions.

Missed any of the action? Catch a recap of events below.

Prolight + Sound

Over in Frankfurt we had four non-stop days at Prolight + Sound! Visitors flocked to the ETC stands and explored a selection of our latest products and new talks held by our specialists.

This year we introduced a series of mini presentations which took place throughout each day on the ETC stands. These covered a range of topics that took a closer look at some of our latest technologies including the top tools you need to know about from Augment3d, exploring color on the new Hog software, ETC’s Stage Machinery offering and much more.

_DSC5933ETC gear was of course supporting the presentations and placed around the stage: we had a Prodigy P2 hoist which was moving throughout the show with curtains on a track, and live integration between QuickTouch Preset and Augment3d. Fixtures including ColorSource V, Halcyon and SolaPix and more were also in action on the truss!

The newly launched ColorSource PAR jr drew plenty of attention on the stands as did the latest Hog 4 OS v4.0 software release and special preview of Eos software with expansion processing. Visitors also enjoyed seeing ETC’s X8 LED array with the Source Four LED Series 3, and got a chance to play with the ‘stars’ on the stand – Ministar, Hyperstar and Lonestar.

Another highlight of this year’s show was the evening event that we hosted for our customers and representatives. ‘Journey to the Stars’ took place on the ETC stand with our very own DJ Mattias Wolf (Software Engineer at ETC GmbH). We had a great evening catching up with customers over some music, food and drinks whilst welcoming the official start to Spring!

USITT

USITT 2024

ETC opened up USITT by showing off Ministar at the New Tech Innovation Showcase. The latest addition to High End Systems moving lights delivers 60 unique colors using VersaColor technology, with a QuadraTech feature splitting the light beam into four distinct colors. Customers looking for an affordable, yet punchy moving light loved the Ministar demos on the show floor.

Fun fact! The USITT Mainstage gear featured Eos Apex 5, Halcyon, Response Gateways, Source Four LED Series 2, Talen, and SolaPix.

Education was a huge focus at USITT. In addition to ETC staff training on topics such as Eos and troubleshooting, the team had space reserved in the booth for visitors to sign up for a LearningStage account. This online learning platform hosts a variety of ETC classes ready to take wherever, whenever. And it is always free to sign up! As a part of the festivities, ETC gave away 10 ETCnomad USB keys to eager learners who signed up for an account at the show.

At the close of day 1 at USITT, ETC hosted its annual Student Session. The booth was packed with students ready to participate in the ETC-hosted Q&A. We discussed upcoming products, work-life balance, sustainability efforts in our industry, and the kinds of skills students should work on building. The team had a blast handing out swag to participants.

Of course, ETC also had a full range of products in tow for visitors to demo. Over in fixtures, we had a display of Source Four LED Series 3, Desire Fresnel, ColorSource Spot V, ColorSource Fresnel V, Source 4WRD Color II, ColorSource Spot jr, and the newest addition to the family, ColorSource PAR jr. Lonestar, Ministar, and Halcyon Titanium also stole the show with their robust feature sets.

Additionally, visitors had a whole array of consoles to get their hands on, including Eos Apex, Gio @5, Ion Xe 20, ETCnomad, and a Road Hog 4 featuring the all-new Hog OS v4.0 software with a revamped color system. The F-Drive LED driving system, Response Mk2 DMX Gateways, and rigging solutions such as QuickTouch Preset were also popular demo requests.

As visitors unpack from USITT, they should also consider submitting an application to ETC’s Fred Foster Student Mentorship Program. This is an opportunity for university students to get connected with industry mentors over the summer via online-hosted events. Get all the details and submit an application by April 12, 2024.

LEDucation

New to the LEDucation show was the Response SnapBack. This product expands any ETC control system, including Paradigm, Echo, Mosaic, and EchoTouch, by adding recorded sACN presets for easy recall. The booth staff fielded many questions about this latest innovation from ETC!

LEDucation 2024

Parts of the booth were controlled by Echo and Mosaic, while Paradigm had overall control of the booth. This helped staff demo that Paradigm serves as an excellent centralized controller for your other ETC control systems.

In the world of fixtures, ETC staff also discussed the latest updates to the Source Four Mini LED and Irideon families. This includes F-Drive compatible models of Source Four Mini and Irideon, as well as recently released 277 V OneTrack compatible models of Irideon WLZ and Irideon FPZ.

That’s a wrap on March 2024 tradeshows! Where will we see you next? Check out our calendar of events for upcoming tradeshow and training opportunities.

Opasna joined ETC as a Marketing Communications Specialist in the London office in 2018. Prior to joining the company, she worked in a communications agency in her home town, Manchester. Having a case of the travel bug, she took out some time to explore the world before starting with ETC; a few of her favorite stops include Montenegro, Italy, and India! If she’s not writing, reading or drawing, you will most likely find her dancing, playing some piano or trying out some sort of peculiar new activity (flying planes for example…).
