Behind the scenes at CUE 2022

With just over 2100 people registered in 80 countries around the world, Virtual CUE 2022 was definitely our largest event to date! As you might expect with an event that spans most of the time zones, and many of our ETC corporate offices, it took a small army to pull it all together.

Here’s a behind-the-scenes look at what planning and executing a 24-hour event from ETC looks like.

CUE 2022 by the numbers:

  • 42 sessions
  • 6 languages
  • 15 Source 4WRD Color adapter winners
  • 242 questions answered live
  • 1 global challenge from VP of Marketing, David Lincecum

If you didn’t get a chance to hear David Lincecum encourage us all to become a more sustainable entertainment industry, we highly encourage you to watch the video here!

Speaking of videos, many, many, (many) hours of filming and editing go into an event like this. Here are just a few images from the weeks leading up to CUE 2022.

As you can imagine, a CUE 2022 crew loose in the headquarters building overnight gets a little goofy and strange things are bound to happen. Here you’ll see just a few of the inanimate objects that received googly eye updates during the event.

I can’t say for certain that anyone actually fell asleep under their desk, but photo evidence is hard to dispute…

CUE 2022 from Hong Kong

Our team in Asia had 6 devices running during portions of the event to keep track of English, Mandarin, and Korean sessions, their presenters, and the Q&As!

And a jar of Japanese plum-flavored candy for extra energy.

Here are a few more images from our international offices during setup, live streaming, and enjoying the time afterward.

Thank you to everyone who attended live and everyone who registered and is actively watching the sessions after the fact. Your energy and excitement for this industry are why we continue to host events like CUE. We can’t wait to do it all again soon.
