A large number of ETC fos/4 Fresnel spotlights were installed in the ultra-modern and fully automated newsroom creating a flexible “sky of lights” that can be used for a variety of applications. Preworks met with the ORF project managers on site earlier this year. Mr. Ing. Manfred Wagner, who is responsible for the planning and project planning for lighting at ORF, and Lighting Master Mr. Ing. Reinhard Traxler gave a closer look after the lighting system had been up and running for a few months. ![Preworks2](https://blog.etcconnect.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Preworks2.jpg?width=1200&height=800&name=Preworks2.jpg)   The newsroom was the first studio at ORF to be converted to energy-efficient LED lighting. When selecting the right lighting system for this project, strict criteria were used. On the one hand, fixtures had to be long-lasting, powerful spotlights with color temperature and adjustable tint. On the other hand, they had to be particularly quiet for use in a television studio.  In addition to a variety of other requirements, the ETC fos/4 Fresnels checked all the boxes and impressed the studio with their additive eight-color mixing. This array includes deep red which means skin tones are represented particularly well. In the highly automated TV news center, cameras, video walls, and lighting are perfectly coordinated at multiple interview positions to guarantee viewers an optimal experience, so this nuanced color rendering is a must.   ![Preworks4](https://blog.etcconnect.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Preworks4.jpg?width=1200&height=800&name=Preworks4.jpg) The ORF team has had nothing but positive feedback on the smooth operation of the newsroom since it’s been in operation. They are extremely pleased with the use and flexibility of the ETC fos/4 Fresnel fixtures. Because of this, additional ORF studios are being planned and implemented in partnership with Preworks.
