Jacques Rouveyrollis brings in GigaPix and Halcyon for Renaud

A French folk-rock icon, Renaud recently celebrated his 50-year career with three special concerts at the Zénith in Paris. He was joined by numerous prestigious guests, including Francis Cabrel, Nicola Sirkis, Vianney, Axelle Red, and Hoshi. Just behind them, ETC’s GigaPix and Halcyon Titanium fixtures were brought in as additional "guest stars” on the stage.

For these three exceptional shows, Renaud once again called upon his longtime friend and lighting designer, Jacques Rouveyrollis. A legend in the lighting world in his own right, Rouveyrollis has accompanied Renaud throughout his entire career. Assisted by Jessica Duclos—with Arthur Oudin operating the lighting console—Jacques worked with a superb rig that featured the new ETC fixtures as special guests.Renaud1

Positioned behind the video screen, 12 GigaPix units arranged in two rows of six added depth to the stage and displayed magnificent colors whenever the video content faded out. Thanks to an RGBL color system and an output of 17,000 lumens packed into a mere 15 kg, the GigaPix units held their own effortlessly against the rig's other powerful spotlights.

On both stage left and stage right, Rouveyrollis also needed to place powerful, precision-beam spotlights on the floor to illuminate guest entrances. Halcyon Titanium fixtures were chosen to light these key moments; over the course of the show, more than twenty surprise guests took the stage, illuminated by the ETC fixtures.

Artists such as Olivia Ruiz, Cali, Jean-Louis Aubert, Mentissa, Hugues Auffray, and rapper Youssef Swatt's stepped onto the stage before an electrified Zénith crowd to pay a brilliant tribute to the legendary singer-songwriter.
