The Derby Dolls, Southern California's premier Banked Track Roller Derby league, recently upgraded their event lighting with an ETC Mosaic control system and City Theatrical Multiverse Wireless DMX.
Kinetic Lighting provided the systems, bringing touchscreen control of fixtures to the venue. Director of Sales and System Installation Laura Green explains, “We utilized a Multiverse SHoW Baby at the Mosaic controller and then one at each fixture, as the fixtures were spaced too far apart for running DMX cables without incurring high costs or compromising the aesthetic. The wireless DMX solution worked perfectly and delivered excellent results. The Mosaic system provided a wide range of lighting options to the client; white light for practices and bouts, vibrant colors and chases for fun ambiance, and dynamic strobe effects for when someone gets knocked down!”
Kinetic Lighting’s Marketing Coordinator Alex Bowman added, “The Mosaic setup allowed for separate control of the bleachers and tracks with the ease of a touchscreen, plus the ability to use color changing and strobe effects to add that extra flair to their bouts.”
Kinetic Lighting collaborated with MPA to design and specify the system, worked with Wired Electric Company for the installation, and handled the programming and client training on how to operate the system.
